Despite millions of pounds being spent on our Minor Injuries Unit, including on the cutting-edge technology within, Trafford's Locality Board, who are responsible for Altrincham Hospital, have decided that the Minor Injuries Unit should be closed permanently and not reopened to patients.
The Trafford Labour Party, who are in control of Trafford Council, have refused to join us in demanding that the Labour-led Integrated Care Board fully re-open our hospital.
Altrincham has had a hospital for over 100 years, so to close this department and force patients to travel to Wythenshawe or Trafford is unacceptable. This short sighted decision will add extra pressure to both of those hospitals, increase waiting times and add more strain on local healthcare services including GP practices.
Thousands of residents have so far announced their support for our campaign, so why not sign our petition and help get our Minor Injuries Unit re-opened
