Trafford Conservatives have congratulated local hospitality businesses who were able to reopen on Saturday 4th of July. Following relaxation of the Covid-19 lockdown by the government, many local businesses welcomed back customers and are able to trade again while following social distancing rules.
Trafford Conservative Leader, Cllr. Nathan Evans, along with Altrincham and Sale West MP, Sir Graham Brady visited some local pubs and restaurants on Saturday 4th of July to enjoy local hospitality and to engage with business owners over how they could trade more easily.
Cllr. Nathan Evans said “It was a pleasure to visit local businesses that had been waiting anxiously to get back to trading. The government has already provided £42,655,000 in grant support to Trafford businesses, but local businesses also told me and Sir Graham Brady MP that they would like more support from Trafford Council at this key trading period.
“Recently, the government brought in a new law to simplifying and reduce the costs of the licensing process for outdoor seating and stalls, making it easier for people to safely drink and dine outside. Customers will also be able to buy their drinks from a pub and consume them elsewhere, making social distancing easier. Pubs and restaurants will also be able to use car parks and terraces as dining and drinking areas, using their existing seating licenses.

“I am encouraging all eligible businesses to take advantage of this creative government scheme to help stimulate the Trafford economy.”
