Trafford Conservatives are urging eligible local businesses to look out for the revised Trafford Discretionary Business Grant Scheme. The scheme has been introduced to provide grants to small businesses in the borough with fixed property costs that have not been able to benefit from existing government assistance programmes.
The revised criteria for the scheme is aimed at small businesses located in premises with a rateable value of £30,000 or less that were not eligible for the Small Business Grants Fund or the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants Fund.
The closing date for the scheme is 5pm on 24 July 2020 or if the allocated fund is used up sooner. Further details on the scheme and how to apply are available at http://www.trafford.gov.uk/business/business-support-advice-and-funding/Discretionary-Business-Grant-Scheme.aspx
Welcoming the updated criteria to the scheme. Cllr. Patrick Myers, Shadow Executive Member at Trafford Council for Finance and Investment said “To date, Trafford Council has distributed nearly £43M of government grant funding to over 3,400 local businesses. This unprecedented level of government support is very welcome and I am pleased that the Council has amended the criteria to allow more businesses to benefit.
“I would encourage any small businesses that haven’t been able to access other grant programmes to look at this opportunity for assistance. The fund is time limited and could close early if demand outstrips supply. The grant doesn’t need to be repaid and successful applicants will receive funding by bank transfer within 14 days of a successful application being determined.”
