Conservatives in Trafford have expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the late Cllr. Ray Bowker MBE. The news of the sad passing of the popular Village Ward councillor was announced on Tuesday 14th of January 2020 and Trafford Conservative Leader, Cllr. Nathan Evans would like to express his sympathy to Hazel and the wider Bowker family.
Cllr. Bowker was a Trafford councillor right from the formation of the Council back in 1974 and was the Mayor during the Millennium year, demonstrating the high regard in which he was held by fellow councillors.
Fellow Ward councillor, Tom Carey said “Despite having a different political outlook to my own, I held Cllr. Bowker in the highest regard. He was such a strong advocate for the residents of Village ward and he will be sorely missed by the many residents for whom he assisted down through the decades.”
Former Trafford Council Leader, Sean Anstee said “It was a pleasure to work with Cllr. Ray Bowker, especially when he was a fellow Group Leader and his wisdom and wide ranging knowledge will be missed by fellow councillors.“
Cllr. Nathan Evans added, “I have known Cllr. Bowker and his family for many years and he was one of the most hard working and dedicated representative of the people that I have ever met.”
