Labour vote share collapses
Bucklow-St. Martins by-election result sees Labour suffering a massive reduction in voter turnout from the last all-out local elections.
With only one in ten voters bothering to vote Labour. The Greens and Liberal Democrat Parties, see Reform UK taking the third spot. Pushing them to 4th and 5th position as residents clearly see neither as a viable alternative.
With only six weeks’ notice Conservatives won 22.19% of the vote, a 3% increase from May. Cllr Nathan Evans, Conservative Group leader says,” This result shows that the good folk of Partington, Carrington and Sale have had enough of the Labour-run Council and that we need to be out knocking on doors, making it clear that a vote for the Conservatives locally will see more investment in the area and unlike Labour we won’t take voters for granted and award ourselves 40 % pay rises".
