It has come to our attention that a recent amendment has been proposed to the HS2 bill proceeding through Parliament, that may significantly affect the use of your road.
In the draft bill to extend HS2 through to Manchester Airport and construct a station for the new line, HS2 ltd have proposed to use your road for the purposes of construction traffic.
According to their own published estimates, this may amount to hundreds of Heavy and Large Goods Vehicles transiting through your road each day, for the duration of a portion of the project estimated to take years to complete.
We are deeply concerned about the impact that this proposal will have on our community, the use of your roads, and the impact on the value of your property. The proposal appears to be unnecessary, and highly disruptive.
HS2’s own projections admit major disruptions on a number of local roads will result from these works - making local congestion even worse.
HS2 have given us only a matter of weeks to respond to the proposal. Time is of the essence to make sure your voice is heard.
As your local councillors, local MP and prospective parliamentary candidate, we want to let you know how you can join us in opposing this rushed, and ill-thought through proposal.
An emergency public meeting is taking place to discuss these proposals.
All Saints Church, Hale Barns WA15 8SP , Thursday 3rd August 7-9 PM

Please note: This meeting is exclusively to discuss the latest update on Traffic and noise on your roads with the HS2 development.
